Is it credible to consider that consciousness is perpetual?
Or is that concept fantastical?
My daughter said to me that she thinks that when its over, that’s it.
I shared this thought:
Well, if you were to tell me that the gaseous matter of the universe would form organic molecules which could replicate themselves I would say, ‘that’s impossible’. If you told me that replicating molecules would organize themselves in such a way that they would become conscious of themselves I would say, ‘Shut up!’
Look at the inanimate object next to you. Could you imagine that its constituent parts could attain consciousness? Somehow, organic matter can become conscious. Does that seem possible?
The constituent parts that make up yourself are as inanimate as the thing next to you. Does it make sense that those inanimate parts could become alive? Does it make sense that you are conscious?
And so, just as this has happened, isn’t it equally impossible that consciousness could be perpetual?
And by extension, just as possible?
